Spectacular but savage descent, plus easy route finding (once you found the starting point) make the Choro trail very popular. The difference in weather and vegetation between the start and finish are extreme from La Cumbre to Coroico, prepare for a range of climates: the first day you´ll need winter gear, the second and third days just light cotton clothes or something similar to protect yourself from sharp vegetation and biting insects.
There are limited camping places on the trail. Clouds and bad weather are Normal at the 4.700 m. in La Cumbre.
Day 01: LA PAZ – SUMMIT – CHALLAPAMPA We will leave the city of La Paz by private transportation up to the passing of the Summit. With an easy and short walk we will get to the passing at 4.900 mts. above sea level. In the same passing we will find the Pre Inkan Path, we will descend using this path (6 hrs.) until the village of Challapampa. We will camp at 2.800 mts. above sea level.
Day 02: CHALLAPAMPA – SANDILLANI We will begin early in the morning getting more deeply to Yungas, a place covered with vegetation, with hills that ascend and descend. We will arrive to the place of Sandillani (8 hrs.) to be more precise to the Casa del Japones. We will camp at 2.100mts. above sea level.
Day 03: SANDILLANI – CHAIRO – COROICO With just 3 hours of easy walking, we will arrive to the village of Chairo (1.500 mts.above sea level). From this place we continue in private transport toward Coroico Town (1.700mts. above sea level). Night in a Hotel.
Day 04: COROICO LA PAZ Return to the city of La Paz by private transportation (3 hrs.). drifted in the itinerary that we will observe coca plantations.
Good shape and good resistance in the effort of the altitude requires Choro trek an acclimatizing process is essential in order to have a nice expedition.

Our guides are qualified to solve any problem during the trekking. The guides speak Spanish and English.
LLama, donkey or mule will carry the equipment, food, tents, during the trekking.
Trekkers should carry their personal equipment.
We have camping equipment like North Face or Mountain Hardware tents, dinning tents, toilet tent; those are included during the excursion.
The trekking techniques are walking in a slow step without to lose the speed.
Our experienced cook three meals a day during the expedition. We have two kind of food vegetarian and no vegetarian. Dried fruit or energetic bars are recommended.
