Parinakhota and Sajama are located in the Sajama national park, ascents in this mountain are recommended for climbers with a medium level of experience.
Parinakhota was climbed for the first time in 1920 – December. the climbers Joseph Prem from Austria and Carlos Teran from Bolivia have left some notes issued in Germany and United States (the American Alpine Journal), the description of the route came out in 1945 after the World War II.
The other volcano located beside Parinakhota, Pomerata 6.222 mts., was conquered by the bolivian mountaineers Edmundo Garcia and Rene Zalles in 1946. “Payachatas” have a lot of ascents and are visited many times.
Parinakhota is a very aesthetic volcano with perfect slopes and soft lines.
Day 01: Departure by a exclusive transport, the travel lasts four hours approximately, arrival in the town of Sajama (4.400m.), transport to go to the base camp of Payachatas volcanoes (4.800 m.) Camping night.
Day 02: This is optional, ascent to Parinakhota volcano (6.112m.), descent to the base camp. Camping night.
Day 03: Transport service to Sajama town. Camping in thermal waters
Day 04: Return travel to La Paz city and arrival to the hotel. End of our service.
The level of difficulty of Parinakhota is technically easy, but it is needed a good acclimatization and to be in a good shape.
Our guides belong to the International Union of Mountain Guides (U.I.A.G.M.) And our guides’ assistants are trained by the French school (E.N.S.A) and by the association of trekking and mountain guides of Bolivia.
We have porters to carry the mountain gear, food, and tents for the high camps..
Among the mountain gear we have tents “North Face”, “Mountain Harward” and the high mountain security gear is included (rope, stakes, ice screws, etc.).
